Crescentina, crescenta, or tigella (plural: crescentine, crescenti, or tigelle) is a thin, 4-inch circular-shaped bread that originated in the Apennines in the Modena and Bologna area (Emilia Romagna region, Northern Italy), but can now be found all throughout the mountains between Emilia and Tuscany. Crescentina is still the most popular name in the Modena area, but Tigella is the most popular name in the rest of Italy, owing to certain national franchisings that offer this great product in the most important cities.
