When Eddie and Stubby Scatchell opened their tiny food business in Cicero, Illinois in 1953, they probably had no idea that it would be operating for over sixty years. That has really been the case, and Frankie Levato and Barry Reggi have been in charge for the past thirty years, expanding the building and fine-tuning the menu. They've made Scatchell's their home, and it's become a beloved neighborhood landmark. Their product takes center stage with signage that lights up the Cicero night like a Vegas show, and they have maintained the same clean environment with their original recipes and dependability. The menu and program have been dominated by its Italian beef, sausage, and pizza, as well as the Vienna Beef connection of hot dogs and Polish sausage. Many of the same dependable employees have worked for Frankie and Barry for many years, including Mena, who came straight from Italy, Peter, and Christina. Scatchell's is extremely unique because of its community participation and commitment to its clients. Aside from the many delighted consumers, celebrities such as Joe Mantegna and Jeff Mauro of the Food Network have become true admirers.
