"On May 16, 1978, Joe Angelastri launched City Newsstand, a corner newsstand that would become Chicago's largest magazine store and one of the country's largest newsstands.

Joe received the surprising news that the Chicago-Main Newsstand had closed owing to a rent dispute five years later, with the store totally converted to magazines.
Joe first heard stories in 1999 that the City of Evanston was interested in buying the historic Chicago-Main Newsstand with the intention of demolishing it and expanding the park to the south.
In the year 2000, Joe was called by Eric Singer, the proprietor of the Lucky Platter restaurant across the street from Chicago-Main and 3rd Ward Alderman Melissa Wynne. Joe was once
